Keila Dawson is an award-winning educator and the author of The King Cake Baby. She was born and raised in New Orleans. She’s hiked the rice terraces in the Philippines, climbed Mt. Fuji in Japan, and Mt. Sinai in Egypt when working abroad as a special education teacher, school administrator, and educational consultant. When Keila isn’t reading, writing, or digging in genealogical archives she enjoys visiting schools. During her lively interactive visits, she sings original songs, shares stories about world cultures, and traditions unique to Louisiana.
